According to the draft law on Making Addenda to the Law on the Remuneration of Persons Holding State Positions and State Service Positions, it is proposed to give a monthly surcharge to the persons holding an autonomous position in the Investigative Committee in the amount of 92% of the official rate, which is due to the fact that the investigators, as holding a particularly risky autonomous position and with the necessity to provide surcharge to the officials who are responsible for the implementation of the aims and tasks arising from their position.

The key rapporteur, the Deputy Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee Arsen Ayvazyan noted that after the first reading, the Government proposed technical and editorial amendments, which were adopted.

The co-rapporteur, the deputy of the Civil Contract Faction Alkhas Ghazaryan highlighted the adoption of the draft and called on her colleagues to vote for it.

The member of the Committee, the Secretary of Armenia Faction Artsvik Minasyan expressed his opposition to the draft. According to him, the prosecution side is better paid than those who carry out justice.

The Chair of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs Vladimir Vardanyan mentioned that in the near future it is also planned to increase the salary of the judges of the first instance, which aims to solve the social problems of justice implementers.

As a result of the debate, the revised draft of the law was endorsed.

The issue was debated at the extraordinary sitting of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs in the second reading on May 25.
